Jaromír Honzák Quintet: Little Things
Jaromír Honzák Quintet

Little Things

The bassist and composer Jaromír Honzák, one of the mainstays of the Czech jazz scene whose reputation and scope of activity have long ago surpassed its limits, released on the occasion of his 50th birthday his fifth album. Honzák’s partners are his colleagues of many years from his Czech-Polish trio – Michal Tokaj (piano), David Dorůžka (guitar) and Lukasz Zyta (drums) – whose ranks were joined in this case by the American saxophonist Chris Cheek. The album contains seven pieces by Honzák himself and one composition by David Dorůžka. Thanks to the perfect harmony between the players, the compositions blossom in the unusual beauty and the rich sound of these inventive arrangements.
