Jazz Dock Orchestra

House big band of the popular Prague jazz club on the Vltava River, Jazz Dock Orchestra brings together some of the foremost Czech and Slovak players, including Miroslav Hloucal, Marcel Bárta, Petr Kalfus, Štěpán Janoušek, Jiří Levíček, Daniel Šoltis, Tomáš Baroš, Jan Jirucha and Richard Šanda. The ensemble is directed by British saxophonist and composer Andy Schofield. The band regularly hosts international guest performers, including Kurt Elling, Richard Bona, Ben Wendel or Niels Klein. Apart from music by their own members, the orchestra’s repertoire comprises classic numbers by world-renowned musicians such as Duke Ellington, Bob Brookmeyer, Charles Mingus, Gil Evans and others.
